THE TRY RACING TV FOR FREE NOW HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 6) Permission was given for Bobbys Pride (IRE) to go early to post and for Sahm Naif (IRE) to be mounted in the chute and go early to post wearing a red hood.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference 1 ½ furlongs out, involving the winner, Sahm Naif (IRE), ridden by Jason Hart, Harswell River (IRE), placed second, ridden by Jonna Mason, Talking In Kode (GB), placed fifth ridden by Daniel Tudhope and Baldosa (IRE), placed third, ridden Lewis Edmunds.
The Stewards considered that the interference was accidental as Sahm Naif (IRE) shifted quickly right-handed taking Harswell River (IRE) slightly of its intended line, which in turn shifted Talking In Kode (GB) and ALDOSA (IRE) slightly off their intended lines.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved the placing of SHAM NAIF (IRE) as Harswell River (IRE) lost no momentum and was always being held to be beaten by neck.
On the run to the line, Joanna Mason, the rider of Harswell River (IRE), placed second, struck the winner, Sahm Naif (IRE), once across the nose with her whip, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was considered to be accidental.
