The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident shortly after leaving the stalls involving Chicago Fireball, ridden by P. McGettigan, unplaced, Sara Valentina, ridden by C.D. Hayes, placed third, Mercurial, ridden by A.J. Casey, unplaced, Gerrit's Gem, ridden by R.P. Whelan, unplaced, and Storm Averted, ridden by W. Joyce, unplaced, where it appeared W. Joyce had to take back. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. W. Joyce stated that he had to take a pull as the gap was closing and felt pressure from both sides. R.P. Whelan stated that he didn't contribute to the incident. C.D Hayes stated that he got sandwiched and became unbalanced. P. McGettigan stated that he kept a straight line and received pressure from his inside. A.J. Casey stated that he received a bump and tried to maintain his line. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards did not apportion blame to any rider and took no further action
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident approximately 200 yards from the finish involving En Or (FR), ridden by J.J.G. Ryan, unplaced, Love Billy Boy, ridden by S. Foley, placed sixth, and Gerrit's Gem, ridden by R.P. Whelan, unplaced, where it appeared the three horses came close together. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. S. Foley stated that no gaps appeared and felt the movement was very minor. J.J.G. Ryan stated that he suffered no interference. R.P. Whelan stated that as his mount tired he moved ever so slightly right. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
