The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident in the straight involving Mags, ridden by P.A. Harnett, unplaced, Showhound (GB), ridden by K.J. Leonard, unplaced, and Racing Royalty (GB), ridden by D.W. O'Connor, unplaced, where it appeared Mags had to check. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. P.A. Harnett said he had to take a check. K.J. Leonard said his mount drifted slightly right. D.W. O'Connor said he received slight interference. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards took no further action other than to advise K.J. Leonard to react quicker in future when his mount is drifting
S. O'Callaghan, rider of Ferrybank (GB), trained by T.M. Walsh, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount broke slowly
D.P. McDonogh, rider of Camachero, trained by Noel C. Kelly, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount raced keen throughout
The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Ciaran Murphy, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Finsceal Annie, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Ciaran Murphy attributed the apparent improvement in form to the drop in trip combined with the softer ground. Subsequently the Raceday Stewards became aware of an explanation given by the trainer to the press which wasn't proffered to the Raceday Stewards, to the effect that Finsceal Annie was in season on its last run. As a consequence of this the Raceday Stewards referred the matter to a Senior Racing Official for further investigation
