THE DISNEY'S HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL AT LOWRY HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 2) Permission was given for Roman Dragon (GB) and The Angel King (GB) to wear a red hood to post, for Khafiz (IRE) to go to post early wearing a red hood, and for Korker (IRE) to be mounted in the chute and go to post early.
Leaving the stalls, Miami Matrix (IRE), unplaced, jumped awkwardly and shifted right-handed, slightly hampering The Angel King (GB), placed second.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Rounding the home bend, The Strikin Viking (IRE), unplaced, hung right-handed despite the rider’s best efforts, carrying Miami Matrix (IRE), unplaced, off its intended line, which in turn resulted in Roman Dragon (GB), placed sixth, losing its position when tightened for racing room.
The performance of Power Fizz (IRE), which finished unplaced, beaten 27¼ lengths, was considered.
It was noted that the representative of William Haggas could offer no explanation for the gelding’s performance.
The Veterinary Officer examined the gelding post-race and had nothing to report.
Following the race, Jack Nicholls reported that Korker (IRE), unplaced, hung right-handed.
Faleh Bughenaim reported that The Strikin Viking (IRE), unplaced, hung right-handed throughout and also proved very difficult to ride out in the home straight.
