An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference inside the final half furlong involving the winner, Premier (FR), ridden by James Bowen and Appleshaw (GB), placed second, ridden by Bryan Carver.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved the placing of Premier (FR), as despite drifting right-handed approximately half a furlong out and giving Appleshaw (GB) a light brush, moving the horse slightly off its intended line, there was no loss of momentum as the rider of Appleshaw (GB) was able to continue riding and Premier (FR) appeared to be holding Appleshaw (GB) to the line with the winning distance being a head.
Bowen was cautioned for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift right-handed without timely correction moving Appleshaw (GB) slightly off its intended line.
