The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Quinn The Eskimo (GER), trained by Paul Nolan, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal
The Raceday Stewards interviewed D.J Gilligan, rider of You Done Well, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that he picked up his stick early, his horse rallied and he miscounted. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards found the rider in breach of Reg.10.3.(g)(frequency) and having taken his clean record into account suspended him for two race days
K. Callaghan, rider of Hob's Angel, trained by James M. Barcoe, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left throughout
The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Kieran Purcell, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of You Done Well, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Miss A. Dunphy, Authorised Representative, reported that this horse made a mistake early the last day and seemed to lose interest thereafter. Today with blinkers applied and a positive ride together with jumping better seemed to bring about the apparent improvement
Having considered the report the Raceday Stewards noted the explanation offered
J. Morrison, trainer of Sea The Sunset (GB), reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his charge was coughing post race.
An extended handicap hurdle for four years old and upwards rated 0-100 Penalties - Winner of a hurdle race after calculation of the handicap shall carry 7lb extra for each hurdle race won.
