The Stewards received a report from Mr. H.T. Hynes , Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Clerk of the Scales, regarding the fact that C.T. Keane , rider of Reverberation (GB) , weighed in at 1.1 lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who stated that he had a drink of water and this in his opinion is what he attributed the weight gain to. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that C.T. Keane was in breach of Rule 231 and they therefore cautioned him on this occasion
The Stewards requested a report from Matthew J. Smith, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Mads Black Eights, placed first, as compared with its most recent run. Matthew J. Smith reported that his charge relented the tongue strap on its previous run and was advised to leave it off for todays run and this in his opinion is what he attributed the apparent improvement in form to. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.
