C. Cusack, rider of Mehman (GB), trained by P.J.F. Murphy, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got a bit tight for room after a furlong
The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages of this race involving Bella Isabella, ridden by S. Coen, placed first, and Playin Cool, ridden by J. Cleary, placed second, where it appeared interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. S. Coen stated that he received the initial contact and his mount was intimidated up the straight. J. Cleary stated that his mount was intimidated but he maintained a straight line after the initial contact. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards made no alteration to the Judge's placings and took no further action. Having been informed of the nature of the enquiry and their right to be accompanied, both riders elected to proceed without accompaniment
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident approximately one furlong after leaving the stalls involving Mehman (GB), ridden by C. Cusack, Thru And Thru, ridden by P. McGettigan, and Great Mover, ridden by P.A
Harnett, where it appeared Mehman ran short of room and clipped a heel. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. C. Cusack stated that his mount was running free and he was taking back when he clipped a heel. He added that he felt the horse in front was clear to cross. P. McGettigan stated that he had moved across when safe to do so and had caused no interference. P. A. Harnett stated that he had moved across as he felt he was clear and he heard no shout. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards did not apportion blame to any rider and took no further action. Having been informed of the nature of the enquiry and their right to be accompanied, the three riders elected to proceed unaccompanied.
