The Raceday Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Mr. P.L. Malone, regarding the failure of A
Browne-Souza, rider of Senado Square, placed fifth to weigh in after this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that he had a quick glance at the board and didn't notice his name. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards using their powers under Rule 230(ii), disqualified Senado Square from fifth place. As a consequence, they amended the result to read as follows: Amended result: First: Notforalongtime Second: Mullacash Buzz Third: Pink Oxalis Fourth: Jackandthefox Fifth: Knockmore Prince Sixth: Profit Surge Furthermore, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that A. Browne-Souza was in breach of Rule 227(i) and having considered his clean record in this regard, they suspended him for two racedays and ordered him to forfeit his riding fee
The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident shortly after leaving the stalls where it appeared J. Cleary rider of Mullacash Buzz had lost an iron and carried numerous horses across the track. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
