Permission was given for Spirited Dancer (GB) to wear a red hood to post, for Buraback (IRE) to go early to post wearing a red hood and for Sioux Warrior (IRE) to go early to post wearing a red hood and to be mounted on the chute.
An enquiry was held to consider interference rounding the bend involving Sioux Warrior (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by William Carson and Fletchers Dream (GB), unplaced, ridden by Jack Doughty.
The interference was found to be accidental and was caused by Fletchers Dream (GB) becoming unbalanced when struggling to hold its position, resulting in the gelding making contact with the rail, becoming further unbalanced and forcing Doughty to steady off the heels of Fletchers Dream (GB) which had held its line one off the rail.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately one furlong out involving Initial Blue (IRE), placed third, ridden by Charlie Bell, ROYAL MUSKATEER, unplaced, ridden by Charles Bishop and Dark Sun (GB), unplaced, ridden by Laura Coughlan.
Being a 7lb claimer, Bell was accompanied in the enquiry by a senior rider.
Bell was suspended for 3 days for careless riding as he allowed Initial Blue (IRE) to drift left-handed over a period of time without timely or sufficient correction, causing both Bishop and Coughlan to have to pause in their riding.
Approaching the final half furlong, Dark Sun (GB), unplaced, edged slightly right-handed at the same time as ROYAL MUSKATEER, unplaced, hung left-handed, causing the rider of ROYAL MUSKATEER to take a precautionary check for a number of strides.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the final half furlong involving Good Earth (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by Connor Planas and Spirited Dancer (GB), unplaced, ridden by Jason Hart.
Planas was cautioned for careless riding as he allowed Good Earth (IRE) to drift left-handed without sufficient correction causing Hart to take a check.
The performance of Bibendum (GB), which finished unplaced, was considered.
Julie Camacho could offer no explanation for the gelding’s performance on this occasion.
Following the race, Laura Coughlan reported that Dark Sun (GB), unplaced, suffered interference approaching the final half furlong and Joanna Mason reported that Buraback (IRE), unplaced, anticipated the start.
The Veterinary Officer reported that Fletchers Dream (GB), unplaced, had finished lame on its left-fore.
