Permission was given for Purosangue (GB) to wear a red hood to post.
Principality (IRE), drawn 11, reared as the stalls opened and put its head into stall 12 resulting in the gelding being very slowly away.
Being satisfied that it was not caused through a faulty action of the starting stalls, no further action was taken.
An enquiry was held to consider interference shortly after the start involving, Great Acclaim (GB), placed second, ridden by Charles Bishop; Back In Black (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by Daniel Muscutt; Rhoscolyn (GB), unplaced, ridden by Cian Horgan; Purosangue (GB), placed sixth, ridden by David Probert and the winner, Darkness (FR), ridden by Mark Winn.
Winn was cautioned for careless riding as he allowed his mount to shift right-handed without correction, taking Purosangue (GB) off its intended line and bumping the gelding.
Bishop was suspended for 4 days for careless riding as he failed to allow room for the runners on his outside, causing Back In Black (IRE) to be crowded for room and causing the rider to take a check; Rhoscolyn (GB) to be crowded for room; the rider of Purosangue (GB) to take a severe check and Darkness (FR) receiving a bump and becoming unbalanced.
Following the race, Pierre-Louis Jamin reported that Principality (IRE), unplaced, reared as the stalls opened and Jim Crowley reported that Mudbir (GB), unplaced, was denied a clear run inside the final furlong.
