THE VIRGIN BET HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 3) Permission was given for Defence Minister (GB), Electrifarhh (GB) and Golden Redemption (USA) to wear a red hood to post.
Oliver Searle, the rider of Bold Impact (IRE), was unseated shortly after leaving the stalls.
Searle was interviewed and shown recordings of the incident.
It was found that the incident was accidental and was caused by Searle receiving a bump from Eminency (IRE), drawn 4, causing him to become unbalanced, and his saddle to slip as a result.
Leaving the stalls, Eminency (IRE), placed fifth, jumped left-handed, giving a bump to Bold Impact (IRE), which unseated its rider, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Eminency (IRE).
Approximately two furlongs out, the winner, Defence Minister (GB), shifted left-handed off the heels of the loose horse, causing Electrifarhh (GB), unplaced, to have to switch, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved, and that it had not improved the placing of Defence Minister (GB).
Approaching the furlong marker, the loose horse gave a bump to the winner, Defence Minister (GB), which moved left-handed off its intended line, which consequently took Cogitate (IRE), placed second, slightly off its intended line, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved, and that it had not improved the placing of Defence Minister (GB).
Approximately half a furlong out, Golden Redemption (USA), placed third, moved slightly left- handed, at the same time as Al Arbeed (GB), unplaced, moved right-handed, causing Eminency (IRE), placed fifth, and Electrifarhh (GB), unplaced, to come together when momentarily tight for room, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved, and that it had not improved the placing of Golden Redemption (USA).
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Sisyphean (IRE), unplaced, finished lame on its right-fore.
The Veterinary Officer further reported that Golden Redemption (USA), placed third, had been struck into right-hind.
