THE SUMMER SATURDAY SERIES AT DONCASTER RACECOURSE HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 3) Permission was given for Desert Falcon (IRE) and Arctic Dawn (GB) to wear a red hood to post, for Galeron (IRE) to go early to post and for Khafiz (IRE) to wear a red hood and go to post early.
Apotheosis (IRE) wore earplugs throughout.
Prior to this race, David O’Meara was asked to explain the reason why he was running Akkadian Thunder (GB) here at Doncaster on going described as Good to Firm having reported that Akkadian Thunder (GB) was unsuited by the Good to Firm, Good in places going over 6 furlongs at Doncaster on 2 May 2026, which he considered may have been quicker than ideal on that occasion.
The trainer stated that he was satisfied with Akkadian Thunder (GB) taking place today as there are limited opportunities to race prior to the Buckingham Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot.
Approaching 1 furlong out, Desert Falcon (IRE), unplaced, shifted quickly right-handed away from Galeron (IRE), unplaced, resulting in Spell Master (GB), unplaced, becoming tight for room which in turn made contact with Montezin (GB), placed fourth, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Following the race, Harry Vigors reported that Galeron (IRE), unplaced, was fractious in the stalls.
Jonny Peate reported that Spell Master (GB), unplaced, was denied a clear run from 2 furlongs out and Cam Hardie reported Montezin (GB), placed fourth, hung right-handed under pressure.
