An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the final three furlongs involving Damysus (GB), unplaced, ridden by James Doyle, Green Storm (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Billy Loughnane, and Stanhope Gardens (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by Hector Crouch.
Loughnane was suspended for 3 days for careless riding for manouvering his mount right-handed when insufficiently clear, resulting in Stanhope Gardens (IRE) becoming short for room and taken off his intended line, and causing Doyle to have to check his mount.
Approaching the final three furlongs Damysus (GB), unplaced, was shifted right-handed having suffered interference, causing the rider of New Ground (GB), placed fourth, to have to switch sharply right-handed, resulting in the rider of Pride Of Arras, unplaced, to have to steady his mount momentarily, but after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of New Ground (GB).
The performance of Delacroix (IRE), which started favourite and finished unplaced, beaten by 16 lengths, was considered.
Aiden O'Brien's explanation that the colt was suffered interference at the top of the hill causing it to become unbalanced and lose position, was noted.
