An enquiry was held to consider whether Daniel Tudhope, the rider of My Mate Alfie (IRE), had failed to pull up the gelding in a timeous manner after he appeared to have a problem which was materially affecting his performance.
My Mate Alfie (IRE), quickly lost ground to the field from approaching the 3-furlongs out and appeared to lose his action before being pulled up shortly before the finish.
The rider and the Veterinary Officer were interviewed, and recordings of the incident were viewed.
Daniel Tudhope was suspended for 8 days.
Following the race, Callum Rodriguez reported that Crestofdistinction (GB), unplaced, reared as the start was effected, resulting in the colt being slow away.
