He does have a bit of a funny action and his sister Pink In The Park is exactly the same, so it’s a family trait. D.E. Mullins, rider of MacDermott (FR), trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount jinked after the start of this race and he was unseated. Having viewed a recording of the incident and considered the matter the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that D. E. Mullins was unseated after the flag had been dropped and the tape released and therefore no further action was warranted
The Raceday Stewards reviewed the fields first approach to the starter where it appeared the field had proceeded beyond a walk before the flag was raised. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards did not apportion blame to any one rider and took no further action.
An extended handicap steeplechase for five years old and upwards that have run at least three times in steeplechases up to and including 12th January 2025 Penalties - Winner of a steeplechase or steeplechases after calculation of the handicap shall carry any penalty or penalties which may be allotted by the Handicapper.
