An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately a furlong after leaving the stalls involving Anglesey Lad (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Hollie Doyle, Gypsy Nation, unplaced, ridden by Alistair Rawlinson and The Cola Kid (GB), unplaced, ridden by Hector Crouch.
Paddy Bradley, the rider of My Turn Now (IRE), unplaced, was also interviewed but found not be involved.
Rawlinson was suspended for 4 days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to edge left-handed towards the rail when insufficiently clear of a free running ANGLESY LAD (IRE), causing that gelding to be crowded onto The Cola Kid (GB), which resulted in Crouch having to take a substantial check and losing his prominent position.
Approaching one furlong out, Ustath (GB), placed fourth, hung right-handed at the same time as My Turn Now (IRE), unplaced, edged left-handed resulting in both runners becoming unbalanced after bumping but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Ustath (GB).
The winner, Devilwala (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Wolverhampton on 17 March 2025 where the gelding finished last of eleven runners beaten 9 lengths.
Derek Shaw could provide no explanation for the improvement, other than the gelding may have benefitted from dropping back in trip to 6 furlongs from 1 mile and half a furlong, which was noted.
Devilwala (IRE) was routine tested.
Following the race, Hollie Doyle reported that Anglesey Lad (IRE), unplaced, was denied a clear run on several occasions from two furlongs out.
Hector Crouch reported that The Cola Kid (GB), unplaced, suffered interference approximately 1 furlong after the start.
Billy Loughnane reported that Ustath (GB), placed fourth, anticipated the start.
