THE ROODEE HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 3) Permission was given for Goldmoyne (IRE) to be mounted in the chute and go early to post wearing a red hood; for Bell Shot (IRE) and Arctic Thunder (IRE) to wear a red hood to post.
Rounding the first bend, the free running winner Dance In The Storm (GB) hung left-handed, crowding Spangled Mac (IRE), unplaced, for room, which in turn caused Arctic Thunder (IRE), unplaced, to be tightened for room against the rail but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Dance In The Storm (GB).
An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately 1 furlong after the start involving Sujet (GB), placed second, ridden by Zak Wheatley, A War Eagle (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by Billy Garritty and Miami Matrix (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by David Nolan.
Wheatley was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to edge left-handed causing A War Eagle (IRE), to become tight for room and give a bump to Miami Matrix (IRE) and causing the gelding to become unbalanced.
Following the race, Clifford Lee reported that Silky Wilkie (IRE), unplaced, got shuffled back from a wide draw and was denied a clear run in the home straight.
