THE DUBAI DUTY FREE HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 3) Permission was given for Change Sings (IRE) and Juan Les Pins (GB) to be mounted in the chute and go early to post wearing a red hood; for Brosay (GB), Arctic Thunder (IRE) and Daring Legend (GB) to wear a red hood to post.
An enquiry was held to consider interference shortly after the start involving Brosay (GB), unplaced, ridden by Thomas Greatrex, Cindy Lou Who (GB), unplaced, ridden by William Carson and Brian (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Tom Marquand.
The interference was found to be accidental as the free running Brosay (GB), stepped sharply right-handed causing the rider of Brian (IRE), to take a brief check.
The winner, Mirabeau (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Doncaster, on 28 March 2026 where the gelding finished nineteenth of twenty one runners, beaten 18¼ lengths.
Dominic Ffrench Davis’s explanation that the gelding appreciated the drop back in trip to 6 furlongs, from 1 mile and settled better as a result on this occasion, was noted.
Mirabeau (GB) was routine tested.
Following the race, Joanna Mason reported that Juan Les Pins (GB), placed third, hung right-handed under pressure.
Thomas Greatrex reported that Brosay (GB), unplaced, was denied a clear run 2 furlongs out and again approaching the final furlong.
Tyler Heard reported that Daring Legend (GB), unplaced, was denied a clear run 1 ½ furlongs out.
