Formscan By Gary Carson - Mark Walsh takes the ride on the Gordon Elliott-trained FOXFIRE GLOW with owner JP McManus responsible for a quarter of the 20 runner field. The Vadamos gelding cost €315,000 last November having been runner-up on his second outing, at Compiegne. He was just edged out close home by subsequent Grade 1 winner Kyrov that day so it was no surprise that he made big money at Arqana sales and it would be a bit disappointing if he couldn't make a winning start now for new connections. Elliott also saddles Themanintheboots, who was placed in a couple of bumpers during the summer, and the Milan gelding could go well on his jumping debut. Gavin Cromwell saddles a couple of nicely bred newcomers for JP McManus and Invictus Machin, a €72,000 purchase at the 2021 Derby Sale, could be one to note for the future.
