The Raceday Stewards interviewed Mr F.P. Murphy, rider of Party President, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted that he was in breach of the regulation and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that Mr F. P. Murphy was in breach of Regulation 10.3.g (excessive frequency) and having considered his record in this regard (first offence) they suspended Mr F. P. Murphy for two racedays
Mr S. Connor, rider of Bryson, trained by W.R. Crawford, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount suffered a little interference after the last hurdle. After watching a recording of the race and considered the matter the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted
The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Michael Winters, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of River Vale, placed first, as compared with its most recent run. Michael Winters stated that his charge did not act on very testing conditions at Cork last time out. Having considered the report the Raceday Stewards noted the content of the report.
