THE WILLIAM HILL EPIC BOOSTS HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 2) Permission was given for Henlein (AUS) and Korker (IRE) to go early to post, and for Marshman (GB) and The Angel King (GB) to wear a red hood to post.
An enquiry was held to consider interference just inside the two-furlong marker, involving Sarab Star (GB), placed second, ridden by Tom Marquand, the winner Cosi Bello (GB), ridden by Paddy Bradley, and Croupier (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Paul Mulrennan.
The interference was found to be accidental as Bradley committed to a tight but legitimate gap at the same time as Marquand’s mount lugged slightly left-handed, before being corrected, resulting in Mulrennan becoming crowded for room against the rail and having to take a check.
The performance of Caburn (IRE) which finished unplaced, was considered.
James Tate’s explanation that Caburn (IRE) was unsuited by the Going, officially described as Good to Firm on this occasion, and that although the gelding has form on a quicker surface as a juvenile, it would now prefer an easier surface, was noted.
Caburn (IRE) was routine tested.
Following the race, Pierre-Louis Jamin reported that Korker (IRE), unplaced, was slowly away.
