The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident in the straight involving A Pearl Starling, ridden by R.P. Whelan, placed fifth, Etawa, ridden by C.D. Hayes, placed sixth, and Maarisha (GB), ridden by A. Browne-Souza, placed fourth, where it appeared Etawa had to check. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. R.P. Whelan said he received slight pressure from his left. C.D. Hayes said he had to check after getting pressure from his left. A
Browne-Souza said his filly ducked in to the right but he was aware of the riders on his inside. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards took no further action.
