It was a tight finish and the horse pricked his ears when he got to the front, as he thought he had enough done. Hopefully there is more to come. He ran well on soft ground at Cork last week and is a horse who seems to like those conditions. Hopefully we will have a good autumn with him. That's my only runner here all week and it is great to give Claire Carroll - who lectures in Mary Immaculate College in Limerick, a winner. P Twomey, trainer
Andrew Slattery, rider of Minaun View (GB), trained by Henry de Bromhead, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got a bump turning for home
Dylan O'Connor, rider of Haaylhuja, trained by P.O'Rourke, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount made a noise up the straight
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident turning into the straight involving Naples, ridden by Billy Lee, placed first, Kakori, ridden by Ronan Whelan, unplaced, and Minaun View (GB), ridden by Andrew Slattery, unplaced, where it appeared horses came close together. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Billy Lee stated that as his horse came out he overexaggerates the maneuver. Ronan Whelan stated that his filly was weak and received slight contact from the inside at which point she overexaggerated as she struggled on the ground
Andrew Slattery stated that his mount got a bump and exaggerated the effect. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards did not apportion blame to any rider and took no further action.
