The Raceday Stewards received a report from Ms. P. Hassett, Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Clerk of the Scales, regarding the fact that Mr A. Coonan, rider of Movie King, presented to weigh out at 3lbs overweight of which 2lbs had been declared as a possible overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who stated that he done his best to get as close to the required weight. Evidence was also heard from the trainers representative who was happy for the rider to carry the overweight. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards allowed the overweight on this occasion and took no further action
Mr M.J. Kenneally, rider of Art Of Silence, trained by Gerard Keane, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung badly right throughout
The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Gordon Elliott, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of The Mediator, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Gordan Elliott reported that his charge appreciated being held up over the longer trip and this in his opinion accounted for the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the report the Raceday Stewards noted its contents
