The last day he ran over three miles here when it was his first run back and he ran into a bit of trouble turning in, before running on to finish a moderate third. Today's race wouldn't have been a great race but hopefully we might find another little race for him. Maybe he could go back up in trip as he stays well. The Raceday Stewards interviewed A. McCurtin, rider of Rochestown, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In his evidence, A. McCurtin accepted that he had breached the whip guidelines having misjudged his count and apologised for his actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that A. McCurtin was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his clean previous record into consideration, the Raceday Stewards suspended A. McCurtin for three racedays
P.T. Enright, rider of The Boys In Blue (GB), trained by Oliver McKiernan, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount stopped quickly during this race
L. Quinlan, rider of Lucky Ranger, trained by Ms.M.Flynn, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount pulled up lame
Owing to the low trajectory of the sun, the Raceday Stewards granted permission for hurdle numbers three and four to be omitted from this race Ms.M.Flynn, trainer of Lucky Ranger, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that her charge was subsequently noted to be sound at a later time.
An extended handicap hurdle for four years old and upwards rated 80-95 Penalties - Winner of a hurdle race after calculation of the handicap shall carry 7lb extra for each hurdle race won.
