The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident in the home straight involving Porsche Lad, ridden by S.P. Davis, placed second, Tartaraghan, ridden by S. Coen, unplaced, Cala Bonita, ridden by R.C. Colgan, placed third, Sunny Dude, ridden by R.P. Cleary, unplaced, and Together Aclaim (GB), ridden by K.G. Kennedy, placed fifth, where it appeared numerous horses came close together. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. K.G. Kennedy stated that he bumped Sunny Dude and felt pressure from both sides. He further added that he felt there was enough room there for him to go for the gap. S. Coen stated that he kept a straight line. S.P. Davis stated that the incident happened behind him. R.P. Cleary stated that he received a bump and had to check off heels. R.C. Colgan stated that he kept a straight line. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found K.G. Kennedy was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his clean record in this regard the Raceday Stewards suspended him for two racedays
The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving Porsche Lad, ridden by S.P. Davis, placed second, and Cala Bonita, ridden by R.C. Colgan, placed third, where it appeared that interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. R.C. Colgan stated he had to check as Porsche Lad crossed him and he felt this interference had cost him a place. S.P. Davis stated that his mount drifted both right and left off the bridle and caused interference. He further added that he felt he still would have finished ahead of Cala Bonita. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that Porsche Lad had caused interference to Cala Bonita and as a result of this interference had improved it’s finishing position. As a consequence, the Raceday Stewards reversed the placings of the second and third placed horses and amended the result to read as follows: Amended Result: First: Church Mountain Second: Cala Bonita Third: Porsche Lad Fourth: Tara Power Fifth: Together Aclaim Sixth: So Messi Furthermore, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that S.P. Davis was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his record in this regard (second offence), they suspended him for four racedays
R.C. Colgan, rider of Cala Bonita, trained by Matthew J. Smith, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was badly hampered
J. Kearney, rider of Harseva, trained by Patrick Magee, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung right
