Permission was given for Extrication (GB) to go early to post and to be mounted in the chute, for Shelbourne (IRE) to wear a red hood to post and for Study Up (GB) to be mounted in the chute.
An enquiry was held to consider interference one furlong out, involving Giant (GB), placed fourth, ridden by Neil Callan and Silver Trumpet (GB), unplaced, ridden by Charles Bishop.
Callan was cautioned for careless riding as he continued to use his whip, whilst Giant (GB), continued to hang left-handed, taking Silver Trumpet (GB) slightly off its intended line.
Neil Callan the rider of Giant (GB), placed fourth, struck Silver Trumpet (GB), unplaced, once over the nose with the whip but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was considered to be accidental.
Following the race, Neil Callan reported that Giant (GB), placed fourth, hung left-handed and Paddy Bradley reported that Arctician (IRE), unplaced, hung left-handed.
