Runner-up on her last two starts, Johnny Murtagh's filly has done little wrong and might finally make the breakthrough now stepping out of maiden class for the first time. Locally trained Summer Island was a winner over this trip at the Curragh on his penultimate start, before finding one too good over a mile at that same venue last time. Dropping back in trip could well see Natalia Lupini's representative resume his progress. Course and distance winner Summer Snow has yet to recapture her best form but a return to this track could see her in a better light.

Absolutely delighted with him. We had two bad days in York this year and the owner stuck by him. I knew we had a good horse on our hands. He's entered here for six furlongs on Wednesday and he probably will go for it. The penalty will bring him well into the handicap. It was (a competitive race) and I've to thank Luke McAteer who told me the last time to put Patrick on him to claim the 7lb off, and that that would be massive (for him). He'll probably get on him again on Wednesday. No, absolutely not (winning out of turn) - his form has been pretty solid. Probably my own fault for running him over the mile, I thought he would stay that being a Holy Roman Emperor, but he just showed there tonight that he has bundles of speed. We have to take our hats off to the young lad who rode him, Tommie Jakes, who was buried today. Tommie rode a double for me that night in April of last year (at Wolverhampton). You only dream of Galway festivals winners! I was confident of a good run but, being a restricted trainer, you can never be too confident being up against Willie Mullins and all the rest of them. I have my license for four years, my horses are running well and this mare has been tearing up the gallops at home. I knew we were in for a good run, but to win you can't expect it against the big guns. I had always been pre-training and breaking horses so gave away horses to everyone else. I then had too many and couldn't give them away, so I took out the license. I had been winning mostly with my own horses but Pat (Kelly, owner) gave this mare to me when she was rated 64 and she has won from 81 today. He gave him 4lb for being second another day as well and sometimes when horses like this get two penalties for being second, they struggle. .
