The Leading Light gelding made a promising debut in the fog at Gowran Park when runner-up to Homme d’Un Soir and should benefit from that experience. However, on a line through another Charles Byrnes four-year-old Blazing Khal he may struggle to beat VARTRY AVENUE The selection didn’t enjoy the clearest of passages in the straight before running on well in the closing stages when fourth to The Caretaker on debut at Naas and talented 7lb claimer Eoin Walsh is again in the saddle. Ultra Viers made some late progress when third on debut at Punchestown and, if the half-brother to Riders On the Storm can settle better, he could take a hand. Jamie Codd is an interesting booking on Major Robinson, while Joseph O’Brien has a great handle on bumper form this season and introduces both Land Jet and Goule Piatte.
