Wayne let him run a similar type race in that he bowled along in front. He is in to be claimed so, if he is claimed, well and good. If not, we will keep going. Adrian Murray, trainer
P. McGettigan, rider of One More Wave (GB), trained by Noel C. Kelly, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount ran very free
S. Foley, rider of Red Veil, trained by M.D. O'Callaghan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got tight for room in the first furlong
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident in the early stages of this race involving Comfort Line, ridden by Adam Caffrey, Never Shout Never, ridden by J. Kearney, One More Wave (GB), ridden by P. McGettigan, Native Flag, ridden by A. Browne-Souza, and Red Veil, ridden by S. Foley where it appeared Native Flag ran short of room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. A. Browne-Souza stated that he felt pressure from his outside and had to take back. S. Foley stated that it got tight from the keen going One More Wave but he was aware of Native Flag down his inner. P. McGettigan stated that his mount ran too free and was difficult to control for the first furlong. Adam Caffrey stated that it got congested and he was aware of the horses behind him. J
Kearney stated that he wasn't involved in the incident. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards accepted P. McGettigan's evidence that his mount was difficult and were satisfied that no further action was warranted.
