The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Glady Eagle, trained by W.P. Mullins, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be blowing hard post race
Dylan Browne McMonagle, rider of Glady Eagle, trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount didn't handle the ground
The Raceday Stewards interviewed Paddy Harnett, rider of Ehteyat (GER), concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that his mount wandered and he was worried another runner would flash home. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards found the rider in breach of Reg.10.3(c)(use of whip when race clearly won) and having taken his clean record into account, suspended him for two race days
The Raceday Stewards requested a report from M.K.Flannery, trainer, following the winning performance of Ehteyat (GER) in this race, which appeared to represent an improvement on its previous run. The trainer reported that this horse stumbled coming out of stalls the last day and was also hampered at one stage. Having liaised with the IHRB Handicapper, the Raceday Stewards considered the report and noted the explanation offered
