The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Raceday Stewards that Hollow Spark trained by James M. Barcoe was found to have blood at both nostrils post race
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident on the bend turning into the home straight involving Met Office, ridden by J.J. Slevin, Hollow Spark, ridden by K. Callaghan and Katzoff, ridden by P.M. O'Brien, where it appeared Katzoff clipped a heel and was brought down. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. J.J. Slevin stated that horses came back on top of him and he ran short of room. K. Callaghan stated that his mount burst blood vessels and stopped quicky. P.M. O'Brien stated that general bunching occurred, and his mount clipped a heel and fell. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that the incident was caused by Hollow Spark back pedaling quickly and that no further action was warranted
