An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race following interference after jumping the final hurdle involving the winner, MAKIN’YOURMINDUP, ridden by Lorcan Williams, and Collectors Item (IRE), placed second, ridden by Kevin Brogan.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved MAKIN’YOURMINDUP’s placing as both horses had contributed to the interference with COLLECTOR’S ITEM (IRE) hanging left and MAKIN’YOURMINDUP shifting slightly right, but with COLLECTOR’S ITEM (IRE) causing the greater part of the interference by hanging left into MAKINYOURMINDUP before being beaten a short head by MAKIN’YOURMINDUP at the line.
The interference was found to be accidental in that both riders had taken reasonable steps to prevent the interference.
