The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident in the straight involving Brewel Hill, ridden by Mr R.W. Barron, unplaced, and Tilani, ridden by Mr P.J. Smullen, placed sixth, where it appeared Tilani got tight on the rail
Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Mr. R.W. Barron said he was keeping his line on the rail when a horse came on his inside where there wasn't room. Mr. P.J. Smullen said he went for a gap which tightened as he was getting into it. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found Mr. P.J. Smullen was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly and having considered his clean record in this regard, the Raceday Stewards suspended him for three racedays. In arriving at their decision the Racedays Stewards took into account both the severity of the incident and the riders inexperience
The Raceday Stewards wished to enquired into an incident at around the seven furlong pole where Keilah, ridden by Mr M.N. Sharpe, appeared to clip a heel unseating his rider. As the rider was being attended to by medical staff the Raceday Stewards referred the incident onto a senior racing official for further investigation under the provisions of Rule 14(ii)(b)

Walsh, where it appeared Goota Catch'em All was manoeuvered right causing interference to Hemight and Vivacious Lady. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Mr. P.W. Gleeson said he was keeping straight but had to take a check. Miss. M. O'Sullivan said at the time she didn't feel much interference but accepted she was carried off her line. Miss M. Walsh said it got tight in front of her so she had to go left to get a run. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found Miss M. Walsh was in breach of Rule 214 in that she had ridden carelessly and having considered her clean record in this regard, the Raceday Stewards suspended her for two racedays
Mr H.C. Swan, rider of Victoria Kesia, trained by Joseph G. Murphy, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his saddle slipped causing his horse to buck and unseat him

Riders - Qualified Riders under I.N.H.S. Rules. Riders will receive allowances under Rule 52 in this race. Top weight after the time of declaration shall not be less than 12st 2lb and the minimum weight is 10st 7lb.
