The Raceday Stewards interviewed Ms H. Phillips, rider of Crohan Lady, concerning her use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that her mount came off the bridle at the top of the hill and kept finding in the straight. She apologised for her actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards found the rider in breach of Reg.10.3.(g)(frequency) and Reg.10.3.(i)(time to respond) and having taken her clean record into account suspended her for six days for a breach of Reg.10.3.(g)(frequency) and two days for breach of Reg.10.3.(i)(time to respond)
The Raceday Stewards interviewed Ms J.I. Stokes, rider of Orlando Spirit (FR), concerning her use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that one of the apparent strikes was a wave of the whip. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards took no further action.
An extended handicap hurdle for four years old and upwards (110 = 11st 12lbs) Penalties - Winner of a hurdle race after calculation of the handicap shall carry 7lb extra for each hurdle race won. Riders - 1. Lady Riders who hold a Licence under I.N.H.S. Rules who have not lost the right to claim an allowance under Rule 52 (up to and including 15th February). 2. Lady Riders who hold a Licence under National Hunt Rules to ride in hurdle races issued by any Recognised Turf Authority who have not ridden 60 winners or more (up to and including 15th February). 3. Lady Riders who hold a Category ''C'' Permit to ride under I.N.H.S. Rules. 4. Lady Riders who hold a Permit to ride in hurdle races against Professional Riders issued by any other Recognised Turf Authority. The IHRB have suspended the relevant parts of Rule 135 for the purposes of this race. Allowances - (up to and including 15th February and which are not cumulative). Riders who have not ridden 3 *winners allowed..........7lb; Riders who have not ridden 20 *winners allowed..........4lb; Riders who have not ridden 30 *winners allowed..........2lb. No allowance to riders under Rule 52 may be claimed. *Including races under any N.H. Rules or Rules of Racing.
