The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident approximately 150 yards from the finish involving Happy Henry, ridden by W.J. Lee, placed sixth, American In Paris, ridden by J.M. Sheridan , placed third, and Livingston Range, ridden by K.G. Kennedy, placed second, where it appeared W.J. Lee had to check. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. W.J. Lee stated that he felt pressure from his outside causing his mount to make contact with American In Paris. J.M. Sheridan stated that he kept a straight line and received contact from his inside. K.G
Kennedy stated that his mount was leaning right despite his best efforts. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted
L.T. McAteer, rider of Is That Love, trained by P. Sweeney, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that he used his whip in the forehand position down the shoulder for corrective purposes as his mount was hanging left. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted
