Formscan By Eamonn Murphy - THE LONG MILE had been priced up as an early market-leader for the Thyestes Chase, but Limerick's Tim Duggan winner comes here instead. The Philip Dempsey yard ultimately depended on well-backed 7/1 joint favourite Ten Ten in the aforementioned Gowran Park highlight. There was no joy for that fellow as he was eventually pulled up, and though it hasn't been all plain sailing for the Dempsey horses in recent times Broomfields Jeremy was a stylish winner for the County Kildare outfit at Clonmel last month. Up to the heady heights of a mark in the mid 140s, it's getting more difficult for The Long Mile. However he's an improving seven-year-old and his racing weight of just under eleven stone is certainly manageable. Farclas, Off You Go, Treacysenniscorthy and Crossed My Mind are among the others to take the eye.
