The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident between the two and the one furlong pole involving Mount Ruapehu, ridden by S. Foley, unplaced, American In Paris, ridden by R. Whearty, unplaced and Lorr's Girl, ridden by K.J. Leonard, placed second, where it appeared Lorr's Girl drifted left. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. S. Foley stated that he took a check when Lorr's Girl came across his racing line. R. Whearty stated that he felt pressure from the right. K.J. Leonard stated that he dropped his rein when changing his stick but that he had corrected as quickly as possible. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted
K.J. Leonard, rider of Lorr's Girl, trained by Rodger Sweeney, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that he dropped his rein two furlongs down
R.P. Cleary, rider of Nordic Passage, trained by Maurice Andrew Ahern, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was badly spooked in the starting stalls
D. McMonagle, rider of Pinmoney (GB), trained by Daniel James Murphy, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount leaned right in the last two furlongs
J.A. Heffernan, rider of Lakota Lady, trained by Michael J. Browne, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was badly spooked in the starting stalls by a horse alongside.
