The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Southgate Avenue, trained by Philip Fenton, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal
The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Mrs Grainne M. O'Connor, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Love Bite, placed first, as compared with its most recent run at Listowel on the 27th of September when pulling up. Mrs Grainne M. O'Connor reported that she felt the application of cheekpieces and a drop in the weights had contributed to the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the report the Raceday Stewards noted the explanation given
