Permission was given for Double Parked (IRE) and Lesley's Boy (GB) to both go early to post and for LESLEY’S BOY to be led to the start; for Miss Hathaway (GB) to go early to post; and for Gallant (FR), Milford (GB) and Perfect Part (IRE) to all wear a red hood to post.
Approximately ½ a furlong after the start, a free running Miss Hathaway (GB), unplaced, was checked to avoid the heels of Tattie Bogle (GB), unplaced, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately 1 furlong from the line, involving Milford (GB), placed third, ridden by Callum Rodriguez; Jolly Roger (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Ryan Moore; and Best Rate (GB), placed second, ridden by Sean Levey.
The interference was found to be accidental as Milford (GB) had edged slightly left-handed before being corrected by Rodriguez, resulting in Best Rate (GB) becoming caught on his heels causing Levey to switch right-handed, which resulted in Moore taking a check on Jolly Roger (IRE) which then also stumbled.
Inside the final furlong, Green Pursuit (IRE), unplaced, lugged slightly left-handed, despite the rider’s best efforts, hampering Double Parked (IRE), unplaced, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Following the race, Shay Farmer reported that Perfect Part (IRE), placed fourth, was repeatedly denied a clear run approaching and passing the 1 furlong marker; Tom Marquand reported that Red Sand (IRE), unplaced, was denied a clear run approximately 2 furlongs from the line; Ryan Moore reported that Jolly Roger (IRE), unplaced, suffered interference approximately 1 furlong from the line; Duran Fentiman reported that Double Parked (IRE), unplaced, was denied a clear run inside the final furlong; and Oisin Murphy reported that Gallant (FR), unplaced, was repeatedly denied a clear run inside the final 1½ furlongs.
