Quotes on Keke (GB)
I was very disappointed in Cork. I've driven down there with him twice. He was favourite last year down there, and he was favourite this year, and I won't be going down with him again. Just no luck. I mean Cork is a wonderful Flat track but Keke does not like it and, I don't like the drive. I'm getting too old for that, so we won't be doing that again. On ratings, he had one to beat today and the filly that was second, judging by the result now, we could drop down into the 80s. She was rated 78 and she frightened the life out of us. She gave us a proper race. From now on, it's opportunities or Group races; Scurrys or Bold Lads with topweight. It's going to be a huge ask. This race kind of half set up for him. He made heavy weather of it but he won. He's won eight times for us, so I'm very happy. He is a lovely horse and, we'll keep running him away. After Keke (GB) finished 1st at Naas on Sat, 4th Jul 2026 5f Flat Good

Quotes on Bodhi Bear (IRE)
I was just saying to the owners, Sophie and John (Barrett) before the race, that since he has been gelded, he has definitely settled down. Beforehand, he was sweating and things before the race. He has (plenty of pace) and he will be alright. Five (furlongs) on goodish ground is probably sharp enough for him. No (didn't mind the rain), only sorry we didn't have a bit more, but anyway he got away with it. He did (everything right in the race today) and I suppose a stiff five or an easy six is probably his thing. He enjoys it here and won as a two-year-old here. After Bodhi Bear (IRE) finished 1st at Navan on Sun, 7th Jun 2026 5f Flat Hcap Good

Quotes on Tango Flare (IRE)
we only have a handful of Flat horses in-training and are still know as a national hunt yard but I’d love to have another 10 or 20 Flat horses for the summer. You’d love to think that the likes of today shows people that we can do it. I was very worried about the ground and if the forecast had been right, I’m not sure he would have run at all. He’s not the same on soft ground. He ran a cracker in it last year to finish third and was 8lb lighter this year. We were hoping he’d put his best foot forward and if he did, we thought he’d be thereabouts. Six furlongs is his trip. He doesn’t get seven and he’s not sharp enough for five. He’s usually carrying top-weight and today was a lot different carrying 9st1lb.After Tango Flare (IRE) finished 1st at Curragh on Sun, 14th Sep 2025 6f Flat Hcap Yielding

Quotes on The Highway Rat (IRE)
he was tardy enough away, they went a good clip and Billy had to keep him on the bridle so the horse doesn't make it simple! Once he got to the bottom of the hill, I said we were going to win because it is a long way home here over five furlongs. He found every stride and it was a great ride by Billy - it was a very cool ride. He knows the horse and knows how to ride him. The handicapper had only dropped him a couple of pound here-and-there but we were hopeful when we saw this race as it is all about 'horses for courses' and he likes this place. He had a lot of weight to give away, but was a Group horse in his day. Whenever he revisits that form, he is always a danger. Older sprinters have their foibles, but he did it today so we are delighted. After The Highway Rat (IRE) finished 1st at Navan on Sat, 17th May 2025 5f Flat Hcap Good

Quotes on Fort Vega (FR)
I was a little bit worried, being a Lope De Vega, whether the ground would be a tad fast for him. We decided to let him take his chance because it was such a good race for him. I'll talk to John (Lavery, brother), I know where he'd like to go. They love having runners at Ascot and I'd say the Jersey could be an option. John is in Portugal, so I'll talk to him and we'll make a plan. He's in the Guineas next week but you are jumping from a handicap to a Group 1. I think the weather is to be very warm as well, if it came up dead soft I might chance it. He's a gorgeous horse, you can put him anywhere and do anything with him as he's just so easy. After Fort Vega (FR) finished 1st at Naas on Sun, 21st May 2023 1m Flat Hcap Good

I hadn’t ridden her much at home but Denis had told me that she had a chance here today. I hadn’t ridden her in a race for a while either and she had been missing the break, so he told me to get her out of the stalls. I would actually have won further but she didn’t do a whole lot in front, and that’s just her. Quotes on Unique Journey (IRE)
He’s a nice horse. I was delighted the ground change to soft because he is a Caravaggio and he actually grows a leg on soft ground,. We were very confident today. I had Colin Keane back on board, he won on him by seven-and-a-half lengths (at Naas back in April). He got a 16lb rise then so he said he owed us one!. He is in the October Horses-in-Training Sale. I’d be sorry to lose him because I think he’d be a good four-year-old as well. He’s going the right way. I’d say there is a big premier handicap in him. I’d be sorry to let him go but we’ll put a good reserve on him. I bought two nice yearlings and somebody has to pay for them! After Unique Journey (IRE) finished 1st at Curragh on Thu, 16th Oct 2025 6f Flat Hcap Yielding

Quotes on Headmaster (GB)
I’d love to take any credit, but I can’t. This is Sarah’s (Lynam, daughter) horse really, she bought him, and I’m only in charge of who mucks him out!. Sarah does all the work with him. She made a very good decision because a couple of weeks ago he worked poorly, he was going for this race, and she said ‘we’re not going to work him again’. With all my years of experience, I said ‘that’s a clueless thing to do', but anyway we’d run with it, so she knows what she’s doing. Fair play to her. A small trainer in England (William Haggas) had him! I like the pedigree, the mam won the (Prix de la) Foret three times. Quotes on Dark Ace (IRE)
We were after castrating him. He was a bit of a pup there earlier on and we cut him. The boys bought into him when one of the partners sold out - Damian (McCann) still stayed in him. We didn't expect him to run as well, I thought he might have needed it. I said he would be a nice horse for Dundalk, I wasn't expecting him to do this. He is lower (rated) on the grass as well, it was a big difference. He'll go to Dundalk Friday week over six furlongs. Only thing is, I have three others for it as well. He has won there twice. We didn't think he would go on this ground, we didn't think he would like this ground at all. Quotes on Sir Les Patterson (GB)
Lot of nice horses in there. We bought him in July, we took our time, and he ran a lovely race in the Bold Lad Sprint (third). We thought he would be a lovely fresh horse for the system. We paid a lot of money for him, we defied a lot of Middle Eastern money in the ring for him. Since the moment he came in, he showed us strong work and I'm hoping that this horse will hopefully develop into a little bit more than a premier handicapper next year. Time will tell. He has done that very nicely. All his wins have come on the all-weather, but he does have a split mark so hopefully next summer we will put a ring around something like the Scurry Handicap or the Bold Lad. We'll probably be heading for Newcastle now on Good Friday. I think we need one more run and we'll plot something there in February time with a view to getting him there fresh. He won't be seen much over the winter here. He's a top of the ground horse. We ran him on soft ground in the Joe McGrath (Curragh) and it was a big mistake. He's a horse that does bend his knee a little bit, but he definitely appreciates top of the ground. Hopefully, he is a nice horse to look forward to. Quotes on Dmaniac (GB)
Dmaniac loves that ground, wants it pure bottomless and today was his Gold Cup, so we had to have him right. I told Wayne not to come back in if he didn’t win! I couldn’t see him being beaten, as with the ground and the light weight, everything lined up. There is a window with him on the soft ground and while I’d love to run him in the Scurry (Handicap), the ground will probably be too fast for him. He’ll run next week if there is something for him because it’ll dry up soon and he then could be off for four months. We had been praying for rain. He’s been a pleasure to train, there has never been an ounce of trouble with him and you want those type of horses. Wayne also said we could go back to five (furlongs) on that ground. After Dmaniac (GB) finished 1st at Curragh on Sun, 15th Mar 2026 6f Flat Hcap Heavy

It was just great that she won and the 10lb was a great help, and the draw. She's so game. Ciara (Flynn, daughter) does all the work with her at home, and they get on great. It worked out well. She's in next week over seven (furlongs) - she's unlikely to run. There's not much more unless we go to Newcastle. I wouldn't rule it (Newcastle, Good Friday) out now, but it is just so competitive over there. I think Newcastle would suit her because she would like a stiff six. Quotes on Red Evolution (IRE)
I’m delighted with him and he is a horse that has showed us plenty of potential. He had a lovely run first time out and he has run in some lovely races. In the latter half of the year we gelded him and that has really made a difference: it has just removed some distractions. It was lovely in the last 150 yards just to see him knuckle down and pull away from them. Jamie said he took plenty of pulling up and said he feels like a horse that grown up. He seems one that will be competitive over five and six furlongs going forward. Today was the main plan to break his maiden tag and to see where we go from here. He's a nice-moving horse, he wouldn't be a soft-ground horse. We'll see what is up here between now and the start of the season. We might wait for some nice ground. After Red Evolution (IRE) finished 1st at Dundalk on Wed, 29th Jan 2025 5f Flat Maiden Standard

Quotes on Genesis (IRE)
I know he’s a very fast horse; I’ve always said that. He’s had bits of problems with his wind, and he’s had a couple of jobs done on him. It seems to be working this year. He’s shocking pacey at home and that’s why I said I’d bring him back to five. We tried him at Cork the last day, it was his first time at it, and I’d say it was a shock to the system. Before this we’ve been riding him to try and get home but today I said to Wesley to go out there and ride him from the front. He did everything that he was asked. The Curragh has been very lucky for us and we’re after nailing a few big handicaps. He’s in again at Bellewstown on Thursday. I’m not sure if he’ll run; we’ll see what the handicapper does. After Genesis (IRE) finished 1st at Curragh on Sun, 28th Jun 2026 5f Flat Hcap Good

Quotes on Temperance (IRE)
She’s always been a very good filly,. I ran her in the Birdcatcher and thought she’d win that. I put a tongue-tie on her to see if it would improve her and she didn’t jump and got into all the trouble. She looked like the winner of the race to me but didn’t get the run. I said we’d go back to maidens and we kept bumping into one. She ran a blinder two months ago in Dundalk. Johnny Murtagh’s filly (Songhai) won it and she was third in a Listed race the other day. I’ve always thought she’d a black-type filly but couldn’t win my maiden. I kept coming up against 90 horses so I said we’d just go for a handicap. The last day I ran her back a bit too quick and I saw it wasn’t the thing to do. I said I’d freshen her right up and thankfully the ground has stayed firm, because that’s what she wants. Everyone keeps preaching that she wants seven, I don’t disagree as I think she could stay seven but I think six is her trip. There is a race next week for her but it would be the same mistake again, running her back too quick. It was either the 0-80 against older horses or this. I thought there would be a huge field for this but there were only 12 or 13 entries and seven declared, but it was a hot field. On paper and homework she should win that but she just hadn’t won. After Temperance (IRE) finished 1st at Naas on Sat, 10th May 2025 5f Flat Hcap Good

Quotes on Moltophino (IRE)
It’s a good way to break your maiden,. He’s been very unlucky, he’s always bumped into one or found traffic or something. He was in off a low mark. I know he was out of the handicap but he was actually only a pound out of it before the mid-summer evaluation when he got dropped. That’s great. I was very worried about stall two but he winged the gates and Chris said he was happy in front. He hit the line hard so hopefully he’ll get a bit further in time. Quotes on Bishopton (IRE)
he travelled lovely all the way and held on at the line. Paddy, who also won on him last summer, said the other horse (Venetian) was coming but was always doing enough. He has options over six or seven furlongs now and we hope he could be a lovely 'Saturday horse’ for the bigger meetings, like Guineas weekend. Maybe he will creep up the handicap and we could be looking at those nice races. He's entered here next week so we will have a look at the weight and, if it is too much of a task, he will go back to turf when the ground dries up. He wouldn't handle the soft ground. After Bishopton (IRE) finished 1st at Dundalk on Fri, 27th Mar 2026 7f Flat Hcap Standard

Quotes on Cuban Grey (GB)
He enjoyed bossing them - all ours were a wee bit flat this past while. The one (Battle Borne) in the first race was second and ran a nice race, so they are coming back. What he does is break well from the stalls. He had a bad draw, so Luke decided to try and get him out and get him into a good position. He probably didn't realise he was as far in front, but he needed it in the end. He ran well to the line, so it gives him a nice summer scheme. We will follow the same route as last year and maybe go to the Curragh with him, that's the plan. That's a big boost for him, even a confidence booster for him and for us all!. He's a smashing horse and he gives it his all. Luke did the fractions well. He texted me earlier in the week for the ride and is a smashing lad. Conor (McKenna, son) never misses it. Quotes on Glory To Be (IRE)
It was a great run the last day when Wayne (Lordan, rider then) said it was unfortunate that the winner just hit her right on the line, so didn’t get a chance to fight her off. All she wants to do is get into a battle and she stayed the seven furlongs really well today. We always thought she would stay but we kept her in the five and six furlong-maidens last year because they are less competitive. She had no problem staying seven furlongs today and probably didn’t know herself, as she was in her comfort zone early on and seemed to enjoy it. Hopefully she’s a fun filly and we’ll find something with her now. There is a nice fillies handicap in Gowran next Wednesday, so we might look at that. After Glory To Be (IRE) finished 1st at Leopardstown on Wed, 15th Apr 2026 7f Flat Hcap Yielding to Soft

Quotes on Go Athletico (FR)
It's a nice birthday present, I'm the big six oh today,. I suppose class is permanent and form is temporary and he did lose his form big time. He slipped back down and we were very disappointed with him. He does want juice in the ground. The ground is kind, I wouldn't say it’s slow or anything but it is beautiful. He's a good horse, we were beating Big Gossey off levels 18 months ago here in group races and he's definitely come back. He was in really good form. We went back to five last time and we probably shouldn't have. It think six or seven is his real trip now. He'll probably pitch up in Galway now in the Ahonoora, that's where he’s going to go next. I’m delighted for the lads, Jimmy (Fairhurst) is a big patron and big supporter of mine, and for Cyril (McMullan). The other two horses (Goal Exceeded and Apache Outlaw, finished 7th and 8th) ran very well for me as well so I’m delighted. We were mad keen to get him back (at the sales). I just felt if we could get him back at all there always going to be a day like this in him, whether or not he could get back to group company. I'd have to win two Listed races to get the same prize money. With a gelding like that I'd rather go for good premier handicaps. I'm delighted for the horse and all the boys involved. After Go Athletico (FR) finished 1st at Curragh on Sat, 19th Jul 2025 6f Flat Hcap Good

I was delighted. I've always thought a lot of that horse. His first run was in the Tatts Sales (Stakes, Curragh) and he wasn't really quite ready, and he ran really well. I stupidly ran him on soft, and then he ran here and he scoped so dirty. I think we will just give him a break now. Whether we get phone calls or not, he could be on the market.
