Formscan By Alan Magee - Eddie Cawley seemed genuinely stunned after GOLDEN JEWEL opened his account at odds of 20/1 at Fairyhouse recently. The Brian Boru gelding was having his first start in a handicap after a three-month break, and the manner in which he finished out that race suggests this extra quarter mile will suit. Cerealice, a half-sister to Grade 1 winner Bacardys, could be an interesting proposition as she drops back in trip for her handicap debut. Barry Connell likes nothing better than a winner here at his local track but her tendency to jump a little right is a concern. Champagne Pat is a consistent sort in this grade, while Russian Roulette won at Fairyhouse in October and didn’t enjoy the clearest of runs subsequently at Punchestown. The Tom Mullins-trained pair Sparky Stowaway and Emily Square are others to consider, while Seaweed and Banksoftheshannon are two to keep a close eye on in the market.
