Formscan By Alan Magee - DEBUCHET was one of the leading bumper performers last season and now makes his eagerly awaited hurdling debut. The French-bred gelding won in fine style at this venue before beating all bar the ill-fated Fayonagh in the Weatherbys Champion Bumper at the Cheltenham Festival. He regained the winning thread subsequently in a Listed race at Limerick. A wind operation has delayed his reappearance this term but Mags Mullins reported her stablestar in good form earlier this month. Bumper winner Cask Mate has gone close in a couple of big field maiden hurdles including when just touched off by Gran Geste at Navan. He previously dead-heated for second spot with the heavily-backed Manamite at Cork. The Willie Mullins-trained Antey won on the Flat in France last year, while Los Alamos and Play The Game are just two others to note in a race that should throw up plenty of future winners.
