The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing stages of this race involving Varshini, ridden by J.A. Heffernan, placed fifth, and Empress Artemis, ridden by Nicola Burns, placed second, where it appeared Empress Artemis drifted across Varshini. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. J. A. Heffernan stated that he didn't have the horse to get into the gap and took a precautionary check. Nicola Burns stated that she kept straight. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards took no further action other than to remind Nicola Burns to ride with more awareness in future
The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Stephen Thorne, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Pink Oxalis, placed first, as compared with its most recent run. Stephen Thorne stated that his charge failed to pick up on very holding and tacky ground last time out at Leopardstown and added that the drop back to a mile today had also helped to bring about the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the report the Raceday Stewards noted the content of the report.
