The Raceday Stewards received a request from Andrew Kinirons, trainer of Flying Bay, for an additional 10 minutes to present his charge for identification by an IHRB Veterinary Officer in accordance with the provisions of Rule 90
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing stages involving Bill Silvers (GB), ridden by C.D
Hayes, placed fifth, and Titanium (FR), ridden by P. McGettigan, placed third, where it appeared Bill Silvers ran short of room and had to check. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. C. D. Hayes stated that he ran short of room and took a check. P. McGettigan stated that his mounted drifted back towards the rail and he was not initially aware of the horse on the rail. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found P. McGettigan was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly and having considered his record in this regard the Raceday Stewards suspended P. McGettigan for two racedays
