She isn't slow and had won over seven furlongs at Leopardstown but, at the end of the day, she is only learning about it and hopefully it is onwards and upwards with her. The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Michael Mulvany, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Electric Beauty, placed first, as compared with its recent form. The trainer reported that his charge didn't stay the last day at Tramore and today's shorter trip may have accounted for a return to form. Having considered the report the Raceday Stewards noted the explanation offered
S. Foley, rider of Staywitherjohnny, trained by Ciaran Murphy, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that he had to take a check turning in
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident turning into the straight involving Flying Fortress (GB), ridden by R. Whearty, placed fifth, Amplitude, ridden by G.F. Carroll, placed fourth, Staywitherjohnny, ridden by S. Foley, unplaced, and Edergole's Angel, ridden by N.M. Crosse, unplaced, where it appeared Staywitherjohnny had to check. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. S. Foley stated that he was weakening and received pressure from both sides as he dropped back. R. Whearty stated that he kept his line as best he could. N.M. Crosse stated that as he came off the bridle, horses quickened on both sides and he felt pressure. G.F. Carroll stated that he angled out a little and the horses outside him tightened things up. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards did not apportion blame to any rider and took no further action.
