THE HKJC WORLD POOL HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 3) Permission was given for BOBBU BENNU (IRE) and One Smack Mac (IRE) to go early to post, for Goldmoyne (IRE) to go early to post wearing a red hood, for Hunters Lullaby (IRE) to go early to post and to be mounted on the chute, for Colombier (GB), Defence Minister (GB), Silver Ghost (IRE), Rajeko (IRE) and Divine Libra (IRE) to wear a red hood to post and for Humam (IRE) to be mounted on the chute.
Superposition (GB) wore earplugs which were removed at the start.
Approximately 5 ½ furlongs out, Bobby Bennu, unplaced, brushed the inside rail and ducked left- handed resulting in The Fingal Raven (IRE), placed third, having to be checked off the heels of Bobby Bennu (IRE), which in turn caused Rhoscolyn (GB), unplaced, to be forced left-handed off the heels of The Fingal Raven (IRE).
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Approaching the final furlong, the rider of Oliver Show (IRE), placed fourth, was forced to check off the heels of a weakening Goldmoyne (IRE), unplaced, for a number of strides and thereafter had to switch left-handed taking Pellitory (GB), unplaced, and Zarathos (IRE), unplaced, off their intended lines.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and it had not improved the placing of Oliver Show (IRE).
An enquiry was held to consider two instances of interference inside the final furlong involving The Fingal Raven (IRE), placed third, ridden by Saffie Osborne, Morte Point (GB), unplaced, ridden by Jason Hart and Colombier (GB), placed sixth, ridden by James Doyle.
In the first incident approximately one furlong out, Osborne was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as she switched The Fingal Raven (IRE) right-handed when insufficiently clear of Morte Point (GB), causing Hart to take a check and briefly inconveniencing Colombier (GB).
In the second incident on the run to the line, Osborne was cautioned for careless riding she allowed THE FINAL RAVEN (IRE) to drift left-handed without sufficient correction, taking Colombier (GB) off its intended line.
Following the race, the representative of David O’Meara reported that Rhoscolyn (GB), unplaced, was unsuited by the Going, officially described as Good to Firm, Good in places, and would prefer a softer surface.
